This itinerary will take you through some of the most significant archaeological and natural sites, as part of the cultural triangle of Sri Lanka.

At a glance: Kandy, Pinnawela, Royal Botanical Gardens, Nuwera Eliya, Udawalewe National Park.

Day 1 - Kandy

Upon arrival at the airport you will be met by our representative and directly transferred to Kandy.

The rest of the day is at leisure and you can explore Kandy, which was the last independent kingdom of the Singhalese kings and is the most important place for modern-day Buddhists because of the sacred tooth relic temple. Kandy is also the most beautiful city in Sri Lanka with its picturesque lake built by its last king, its picturesque rolling hills surrounding the city.


Day 2 - Pinnawela, Royal Botanical Gardens

After breakfast, your tour will begin with visits to the following places:

Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage
A visit to the Elephant Orphanage near Kegalle is a must! 20 km (12 miles) west of Kandy on the Colombo Highway, this is where young orphaned or abandoned elephants are cared for. The herd numbers are usually around 50, from tiny infants (tiny in elephant terms, that is) to hefty adolescents and young adults.

Royal Botanical Gardens
Located 460 m above sea-level close to Kandy and surrounded from three sides by the river Mahaveli, Peradeniya Botanical Garden was founded in the year of 1824 and has one of the most extensive and valuable collections of plants and trees in the world (more than 4000 species, indoor and outdoor). Giant Ficus, Bamboo and Palm trees of the world, rare Ayurvedic plants, Orchid House, spice garden, timber trees such as Ebony, Teak, Satinwood, Mahogany, Tamarind and Jak can be seen here.

Dinner and evening cultural performance are included at Chaaya Citadel Kandy or similar.

Day 3 - Nuwera Eliya

After breakfast you will head to Nuwera Eliya, visiting a tea plantation and factory en route.

In the afternoon, a city tour of Nuwera Eliya will follow. Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka’s picturesque hill resort at 5199 ft above sea level, is renowned for its perennial spring-like climate, pretty waterfalls, and carpets of lush green tea between deep chasms. once the favourite town of British planters, the buildings still resemble old English cottages.

Dinner included at Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya.

Day 4 - Horton Plains

After breakfast you will embark on an excursion to Hortain Plains

Horton Plains, Sri Lanka's highest plateau, is 7200 ft above sea level in central mountain country. This ‘Fen” is a very scenic region with an astounding variety of scenery, from mountains to grasslands, from marshes to trout streams. Sri Lanka's best flavoured high grown teas are harvested in the surrounding areas. Spectacular views can be enjoyed from 'Worlds End,' where the plateau plunges a thousand feet into a straight sheer drop.

The afternoon is at leisure. Dinner included at Tea Factory, Nuwara Eliya.

Day 5 - Udawalewe National Park

Morning leave for a Jeep safari to Udawalewe National Park.
Udawalewe National Park - is an area of 31,800 hectares, which was declared a protected sanctuary with full national park status in 1972. The park area which falls within two provinces of Sri Lanka has an annual rainfall of 1,520 mm and an average temperature of 29.4 C. Surrounded by mountain ranges, the terrain of the park is a mixture of grassland, which of all Sri Lanka’s wildlife reserves, best rivals the Savanna of Africa and shrub jungle.
Teak plantations, water holes and two important factors make this park special - the large Udawalewe Reservoir and the Walewe River, which ensure a supply of water for the fauna within. Internationally renowned for its large herd of elephants, the park is also known for several species of Deer, Wild Boar, the dangerous Wild Buffalo, Jackal and very rare sightings of Leopard.
Check in to hotel take the rest of the evening at leisure.
Dinner & overnight Dickwella Village, Dickwella

Day 6 - Depart

After breakfast you will leave to a hotel of your choice o­n the Southern or Western Coast.
