The Cinnamon Lodge is set amidst a natural 27 acre habitat, rich in foliage and lush vegetation, 170 kilometres north-east of Colombo (about 4hrs). The Lodge was originally a transit stopover for visitors to Sri Lanka's east coast but has since evolved into a resort of its own. The architecture is based on the ancient Ritigala Forest Monastery in Habarana. The lodge is an excellent place to stay for those wishing to visit Sigiriya, which is only 25 minutes from the hotel. Kandy, Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are about about 2hrs away. Cinnamon Lodge offers 72 Superior Rooms, 40 Deluxe Rooms and Suite Rooms.
The 150 comfortable and spacious cottages all have small sitting areas and verandas, encouraging you just to laze there during the day, and are surprisingly secluded. The restaurant has a reputation for producing some of the best buffets in the island with an imaginative range of dishes, including a very good selection of Sri Lankan food.
